The 2017 FIS Nordic World Championships in Lahti (FIN) have already sold more than 50,000 tickets to the events.

Stadium tickets for several of the most popular events are already sold out, both for cross-country and the jumping competitions, organizers announced last week.

The most popular days are Friday, March 3, when the men’s relay and the Nordic Combined Team Sprint are on the schedule. Then follows the first Saturday of the Championships, February 25, with cross-country skiathlon races for men and women, as well as the men’s normal hill jumping competition on the schedule.

The 2017 FIS Nordic World Championships open on February 22 and conclude on March 5, 2017. The organizers are expecting more than 700 athletes from 60 countries, and a TV audience of more than 500 million worldwide. Check out the 2017 FIS Nordic World Championships web site for details.

However, the 2017 FIS World Cup season opens in only a couple of months, with cross-country and Nordic combined races in Ruka (FIN) on November 26-27, 2016.
