Ole Einar Bjørndalen was awarded honorable membership to the Norwegian Biathlon Association (NSSF).

The award was presented at the annual NSSF banquet on June 2, and marks the third time that the NSSF is awarding an honorable membership.

“We are proud to present the honorable membership to Ole Einar Bjørndalen. We could not think of a more worthy individual for this award. Ole Einar Bjørndalen’s incredible career and achievements speak for themselves. He is cherished in the biathlon community. And furthermore, his performances, attitudes and values have contributed to improve the sport professionally, athletically and commercially,” said Rakel Rautun, secretary general of the NSSF, as she presented the award.

“I am surprised that I am named an honorable member of the NSSF, and I am proud to receive this honor,” Bjørndalen said.
